To wonder if Putin is mentally ill?

And if so what particular conditions could be have?

He certainly seems composed, stable, coherent but in terms of his "I'm not bluffing" message...how could anyone of sound, rational mind say this?

Forgive me for not knowing much about the background of the Soviet Union and Ukraine. I don't know what has prompted this sudden invasion back in February/what areas are disputed and which aren't and why?

I suspect he’s a narcissistic sociopath, perhaps like many politicians with dreams of power and glory. But as he can’t get unelected out, his power and distorted view grows and gets more entrenched. The invasion of Ukraine wasn’t sudden as such. It’s the product of hundreds of years of history.

I don't think that being evil or being a psychopath is an actual mental illness and calling it such does those of us with actual mental illnesses a disservice.

They’re a form of mental illness. People generally don’t choose to have a personality disorder, it’s something that often develops as a result of genetic predisposition and/or childhood abuse.

you can also have a personality disorder AND another type of mental illness.
