Do they suddenly become sort of boring and tired all the time?
Dh is 44 and quite moany, tired all the time, not very enthusiastic etc. He’s not depressed just become a bit boring I think! It’s been over the last few years. We have a young Dd, so it’s true we *Are tired a lot, but christ it can be depressing!
Is this a general forties thing or am I wide off the mark?

@UpsyDaisysarmpit What age did it start? Was he quite fun and enthusiastic before then?

Mines not like that except when he is having a depressive episode. Are you sure nothing is going on with your DH?

DramaAlpaca · 23/10/2022 22:59

Mine didn't. He took up cycling in his mid-40s, got very fit and is much more less stressed and relaxed because of it. He's not boring either thank goodness - I'm probably the boring one these days tbh.

JamSandle · 23/10/2022 23:00

I'm much younger and female and I'm grumpy and tired too 🤣

Whizzi24 · 23/10/2022 23:02

Well I'm a bit like that but I'm a woman in my 40s! I think mid 40s tends to be the time some people realise what a treadmill they are on. Working full-time and likely to have to do so for at least another 20 years, juggling family demands, energy levels starting to decrease.

However DH first started suffering from anxiety and depression in his mid-to-late 40s and I know a few men who were similar.
