Bone marrow donation for relative in France - advice!

My aunt in France needs a bone marrow transplant as she has leukaemia. My dad has given blood and apparently he 'isnt a good match but better than nothing'. Dad has had no communication at all from the hospital in Paris. My aunt seems to think that he will go to Paris and donate, but he is nearly 70 and has just had covid. I completely get the urgency, but my dad's health is my concern. Having spoken to the Antony Nolan Trust they said that dad could donate in the UK and a courier take it to Paris. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of bone marrow donation, particularly when it involves a recipient who is abroad? My dad speaks no french and although wouldn't admit It isn't as strong as he used to be. I'm really concerned that the hospital has not spoken to him and my aunt seems to want him to go to Paris at the drop of a hat.

Not sure about the across different countries aspect of it. But it is a big ask! My brother did it a while back for someone and it really took it out of him. He was late 20’s / early 30’s at the time

My sister was due to receive a bone marrow transplant from a donor in America and the lady was coming to the UK to donate.

My DHs brother was his donor and it was done in the same hospital and on the same day as it was transplanted.

For the donor it was a bit like a 3hr blood donation, hooked up to machines and a bit boring, but he had a nurse with him all the time, and there were no after effects.
