to think that the conservatives are bad for democracy.

Two days ago there was a vote tabled by Labour "Ban on Fracking for Shale Gas Bill" something the conservatives promised in their manifesto.

This should have been a free vote, allowing MPs to do the right thing by their constituents. Instead, the government turned it into a three line whip, meaning MPs who didn't vote for it would no longer represent the conservative party.

This involved senior members of the Tory cabinet manhandling junior MPs into the correct lobby, meaning they are now being investigated for bullying.

Those who abstained and therefore should have lost the whip include Boris Johnson, meaning he would not be eligible to lead the party. Yet there is seemingly no action being taken as he appears to be being touted as a candidate to lead the party.

Am I being unreasonable to be really angry that conservative MPs voted to allow fracking under false pretences and the short sighted panic by the party could lead to lasting consequences for the country, and that this is not how a democratic system should work?

Similarly, if MPs refuse to support their party’s policies, the leadership are entitled to kick them out by ‘removing the whip.’ Both happened a lot during the Brexit wars.

That's the point, in this case they said they were going to kick them out if they didn't support their party's policy on this vote.
Many MPs voted accordingly despite their better judgement expecting that those who abstained would be kicked out.

Boris Johnson abstained and so should have been kicked out, but he wasn't. Therefore this could be seen as an abuse of power by those in charge at the very least, if I was one of those MPs I would be thinking very hard about my future in the conservative party.

Without this vote being deemed a confidence vote, enough MPs would likely have abstained for us to backtrack from fracking, now this cannot be ruled out.

Brexit was all due to the internal factions in the Tory party and Cameron trying to deal with that, rather than what was best for the country.

Well the fact that the tories did the exact same thing over Libya and again voted in favour of intervention suggests that they wouldn't have changed their vote regardless of the information presented to them.

Remember, above all else, war creates profit and there is nothing a tory covets more than profit.

No, it's two entirely different situations.

Hans Blix had inspected Iraq and gave the judgement there were no WMD. And he was correct. But Blair said that he had proof that Sadam did have WMD. Which was a lie. They had intel from a guy that the secret services said was unreliable.
So MPs were told that Blix was wrong and they had evidence of that. And that's what they voted on. They voted believing that a PM wouldn't lie about taking the country to war. And no one can know how they would have voted if they had been told the truth.

And haven't they redrawn some borough voting boundaries in ways that conveniently favour them?

No, they as in the Tories haven't done anything. The Boundary Commission redraws the boundaries of constituencies according to shifts in population. It's a completely independent body.

This Tory government has trashed our democracy.
They lied to the Queen.
They lied to parliament.
I'm not even going to start on their lies to the public.🤦‍♀️
They broke the law.
Repeatedly.
They gambled the whole country for party unity.

Then for personal gain.
Then for whatever that last thing was about.

The UK is no longer a respected democracy because the Tories have degraded it.
