To stop buying Christmas gifts for family?

And how would I word it? I know people can be very organised already so I will buy this year but really don't want to continue. It is an added expense I really don't need and for some people I'm pretty sure they're not the best gifts! So what can I say? I'm not good with stuff like this as an eternal people pleaser.

Just be truthful, surely they will be able to appreciate that most will need to tighten the purse strings right now. They may be pleased that they don't have to find the money to buy extra gifts too!

Message something like this - ‘Hi, I’m just starting to get organised for Christmas, gosh it’s coming around quickly! I’m just thinking for next year perhaps we could cut down on gifts and only buy for the kids, let me know what you think xx’

perhaps you could do a secret Santa if it’s a family that are having a get together

Just tell them you are only buying for kids from now on.

We started an adults secret santa, we make wishlists, set a max. budget, so it means we all get one decent present we actually like. Saves me about £100.
