I read an article once that analysed left wing/right wing governments over time. In the past we swung have more frequently from left to right - but gradually - successive governments have stayed in power for longer. My theory is that the Conservatives will slightly outlive the length of time in power of the previous Labour leadership (if you include the coalition). And the next Labour government will last longer than our current Conservatives…
