I had ds2 on the 20th December via elective section, and apart from the Christmas songs we played while he was born you wouldn't know it was Christmas time! Visiting was the same, food was the same crap but we were out the next evening so can't say for the big day

It's not like the old days.

When I was still with the NHS we had a Scottish Consultant who used to complain that he didn't get to carve the turkey on Xmas day any more.

This would be the early 1990s.

He ALWAYS did a ward round on Christmas day (we'd tell the house officers and they wouldn't believe us) and he came in wearing his, I'm not sure of the word, it was a kilt but with the fancy bits and pieces, is dress kilt a thing?
