To not let DS sleep at his friends in the week?

DS18, has college a few days a week. Last night, I let him sleep at his friends as I trusted him to go to college today as the friend also has college today but he doesn't go regularly. He hasn't gone today and when I asked him why he said they woke up late and he ‘couldnt be bothered’ to go.

WIBU to say no sleepovers on weekdays?

Yes he should be allowed to stay where he likes at 18 on two conditions - he is respectful e.g. doesn't crash through your house at 2am waking everyone and doesn't leave you worrying where he is, and he gets on with studying/college.

If he becomes a pain, you deal with that.

Yes - a bit if tough love is what mine would get if they did this. Want your mobile phone? Get to college. Start skipping college because you can’t be bothered to go? Mobile phone contract cancelled.

He is 18. I would go down the line of explaining that he will suffer if his college attendance drops. It is pointless to pretend you can still decide for him at this age.
