To expect November in Cornwall to be mild

Looking to plan a weekend trip to west Cornwall in November. What is the weather like at this time of the year? I've never been and have always wanted to but prices pretty much quadruple anytime from March onwards - just not affordable for me.

I'm of course expecting it to be chilly and to wrap up but is this a stupid idea? Will it be absolutely freezing to the point it's not enjoyable? Google is saying it can be mild but thought I'd reach out to MN for real life experiences

West Cornwall is gorgeous whatever the weather. It's more likely to be wet than cold.

Gorgeous day today. In west Cornwall, if you don’t like the weather, if you wait an hour it will probably change.

Unlikely to be freezing, but likely to be wet. If rain makes you miserable, it’s not worth the risk. I quite like a bit of drizzle, so it’s not a problem for me.

It will piss it down and be cold. That's why noone comes in November.

I would go earlier in November rather than later. The weather has been amazing today, around 17 degrees but loads of sunshine and little cloud making it seem warmer. You need to accept that it could be cold and raining but is as likely to be warm and sunny.

Also the highstreet is run down, the promenade and Penlee area of Penzance is actually very pretty with loads of Georgian buildings. Then you have Mounts Bay, Mousehole, Sennan, Lands End etc which are all stunning.

If you go to Penzance I would recommend booking the new thermal pool at Jubilee pool (lido in the sea). It is geothermal heated to body temp and it is like taking a salty bath. I went this summer and want to go again.

Think it might close in Oct so worth checking...

It’s still open @TonightMatthewIamgoingtobecher - I am going for the first time soon and I am really excited! It seemed impossible to get a slot during the summer but there are lots available now

It's a lovely day here on the north Cornwall coast. Warm, sunny, light breeze. Definitely t shirt weather if you keep moving.

It has been gorgeous today.
We had a walk from Rock to Daymer Bay and I was just in a T-shirt. It was breezy whilst by the water but not cold and warm inland with the sun shining.
It was beautiful.

It's mild. Therefore boring and grey and drizzly. Likely a bit warmer than your winter (cooler in summer), but far west us wet. There might be a lot of fog. Or a little sunshine if you are lucky. But you don't get as much blue sky as the east. I used to find the endless grey days so depressing when I lived there.

I live on the South Coast - so places like Fowey and Charlestown are on my doorstep and lovely to shop in at that time of the year when it's not heaving . The Eden Project is worth visiting as is Heligan if you're passing thriugh. I think Truro is starting it's Christmas markets from around 18th November so look out for the weekly markets in Cornwall in the area you're staying in. The theatre in Truro - Hall for Cornwall had a refit so you might find a show you want to see. We've had little rain this year and while you can get wet and windy weather I've also been on a beach in a T shirt. Look at what's on in the NT properties as well. Penzance had thr geo thermal pool which hopefully will be open all year. You do need walking shoes and waterproofs but there's beautiful walks. I love it here

Thank you all. We had a lovely long weekend at the beginning of Nov. Stayed in Penzance, visited St Michaels Mt and Mousehole. Didn't do the thermapool but we'll 100% be back again so it's on our list.

The weather was mild with a few sunny and a few rainy spells but mostly dry. Fairly windy but we didn't mind and then back to Surrey on the Sunday where it was lashing it down 😂

Thanks for all the comments. It really was a lovely stay.

That's wonderful @fightorflight1 sounds like you had a lovely time it is a lovely part of the world. Last month when I was down In took a drive through Penzance down to Newlyn all on the cost road and then back through Marizion where there were so many kite surfers!

Glad you got to visit and hope you come again.
