To fucking cry over toast?

I've had a god awful busy long day. Started with a medical appointment, just got in now after a truly shitty shift at work.

Came home to find that I can't get in my kitchen because my dad's been and started a job I asked him to do. There's just stuff all over and short of moving it all, no change of cooking anything.

Made myself some toast with the last of the bread* and some lemon curd. Just dropped the fucking lot on the floor when I tripped over the dog.

And the fact that my neighbour is playing fucking bastard depressing classic FM 24/7 atm isn't helping my mood any either!

(*Until the morning, when the grocery delivery comes!)

I've give in and ordered pizza!

Lemon curd?! YABU

IroningThrone · 12/10/2022 01:01

What's wrong with lemon curd? It's much nicer than marmalade!

toastedcat · 12/10/2022 14:40

Irish isn't a race...?

Race - as defined in the equality act 2010 - means your colour or your nationality including your citizenship. It also Means your ethnic or national origins.

Eurgh, I hear you OP, sometimes it's just the straw that breaks the camel's back. V close to that myself indeed today. I think we just have to say yep it's been a shit day and I'm human so I'm not always going to rise above it and be pragmatic. Enjoy your pizza, have a cup of tea or glass of wine and I hope tomorrow is better (I'm basically giving myself this advice too...)

Never knew that phrase was offensive so I've learned something.

Also "pXddy field" (censored with an X) is offensive too apparently.

🙄 it seems like everyone is desperate to be offended by everything these days. So much so that actual racism is diluted by people claiming racism against their nationality. So people taking the piss out of the English is now racist? 🤷‍♀️

buggeredmyleg · 12/10/2022 15:56

The phrase the op used was a racist phrase. Based on a lazy racist trope.

Ofcourseshecan · 12/10/2022 16:02

YADNBU, Mouse.

On bad days (especially premenstrual) I’ve shed tears over a jammed stapler, or one of those bloody packets that won’t open till you rip it so violently that the contents explode all over the floor. The last bit of toast and lemon curd would have broken my heart.

Sorry you had such a crap day, and I hope the pizza was delicious!

X post with @DownAtTheBodyShop

It is a racist term - based on the ignorant drunk Paddy (aka Irish person) who flies off the handle.

I always thought it meant stamping your pads (feet)

never heard of that one what's it mean

anyway op, its just the straw that broke the camels back and I think I'd rather have the pizza (although lemon curd on toast sounds amazing right now)
