AIBU to demand refund or exchange

I’m trying to be earth and modern slavery conscious buying my baby only what he needs, from sustainable materials - which is so expensive!! I’ve made regular purchases from an online supplier (not exactly earth friendly I know) and in a recent order for the first time, received two faulty items. One had a small hole, the other was a pair of trousers with one leg shorter than the other. I took photographs immediately and sent them to the supplier. The response I received was curt: I must’ve poked a hole in the trousers accidentally, darn them; and, it would be impossible for the brand to send trousers with legs a different length, wash the trousers and stretch the shorter leg when damp.
This is the first time in my life I’ve ever sought to return products, not just from this brand but anywhere. I’m flabbergasted by the response. AIBU to demand an exchange of products?
Am I being unreasonable?

You don't need to demand just ask, if they say no then file a charge back- it is that simple.

Just say it’s not fit for purpose and you would like a refund or replacement please. I’m sure they won’t want bad publicity.

Don't "demand" anything. Just politely ask for what you want, referring to the relevant part of the Sale of Goods & Services Act that supports your claim.

Sorry I should’ve clarified when I sent the photos I very politely explained that I love the products but would like them to be exchanged with non-faulty items.
They have essentially said the blame is on me for one fault, and said it’s impossible for the other fault.
I’m just thrown by their reaction - they have not acknowledged the request to exchange.

With online selling you have 14 days from delivery to return any item, for any reason. If you're within this time, send them back.
