Dunking biscuits is just wrong.

Urgh, there is nothing worse than a soft biscuit. And even worse, bits of said soggy biscuit in the bottom of your cup.

I never dunk biscuits in tea only coffee which I drink black.
Ginger nuts, hobnobs and dark chocolate digestives are amazing dunked in coffee.

Mentalpiece · 11/10/2022 01:07

You can't beat a good old dunk with a biscuit.
Unless you've smothered your biscuit with butter.
I love a bit of butter on a digestive, rich tea or ginger nut.

vodkaredbullgirl · 11/10/2022 01:11

A quick dunk is all you need and the right biscuit 🍪🍪🍪

DramaAlpaca · 11/10/2022 01:30

There's nothing nicer than a dunked Rich Tea biscuit. Yum... The skill is in just getting it soggy enough not to leave bits in the mug. If you do, your dunking technique is all wrong.

ClaryFairchild · 11/10/2022 01:41

You are being so damn unreasonable!!! A perfectly dunked biscuit is heavenly.

If you want to try a Tim Tam slam, it's one step up. Nibble off the chocolate on both ends, suck tea/coffee through it like a straw and AS SOON AS you feel the moisture throw it into your mouth. Penguins don't work because they fall apart. A delay in the throwing into your mouth results in it falling into your drink. It has to be timed to perfection.

Only to be done on your own or with a bestie.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 11/10/2022 02:10

Well I’m working on the principle that soggy biscuit in the bottom of my mug where I’ve dunked won’t affect you in any way. So I’ll carry on dunking and you’ll presumably carry on not dunking. Problem solved!

TeddyTed · 11/10/2022 02:38

OP, you are absolutely correct. I like biscuits crunchy as they were made, not soggy messes!

Fingernails4Cash · 11/10/2022 04:25

YABU. Very very unreasonable.

phishy · 11/10/2022 05:23

A fool and his overly dunked biscuit are soon parted.

It’s a skill.

That's where it's the pickle of trying to soak the biscuit without risking structural integrity of the specific biscuits.

AKA dunker's dilemma

girlmom21 · 11/10/2022 06:45

This thread is going to get you put you on some kind of government watch list.

Absolute psychopath.

Darbs76 · 11/10/2022 06:50

Agree! My godson used to love dunking his cookies in my tea (as he did with his mum) and I hated it!

TroysMammy · 11/10/2022 06:51

Dunking biscuits in tea is sacrilege. I'd never sully my loose leaf tea with biscuits.

When I was about 10 years old I witnessed my Dad dipping a banana sandwich in his tea, I very nearly left home.

TragicMuse · 11/10/2022 08:26

I absolutely hate the words dunk/dunking/dunked and it's only made worse in relation to a biscuit.

I don't mind dipping a biscuit in tea, but dunk? No. Just no. <shudder>

GimmeSleep · 11/10/2022 08:27

You are entitled to your opinion.
It's wrong, but you're entitled to it.

KellyTelios · 11/10/2022 08:30

Not dunking is wrong! Coffee and almond cantucci, chocolate digestives and hot chocolate, or tea...a daily pleasure and poetic beauty. (though I feel somewhat the same as you when dunking a croissant)

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 11/10/2022 08:34

Clearly a troll- dunking is everything!

SiobhanSharpe · 11/10/2022 08:36

French people like to dunk their croissants bit by bit into a wide bowl of either milky coffer or hot chocolate.
The hot chocolate sounds ok but my morning coffee must remain unsullied.
And just about any biscuit is fine dunked in tea.

Cinders88 · 11/10/2022 09:01

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 10/10/2022 22:34

You're doing it wrong because I thoroughly enjoy a chocolate hobnob dunked in my coffee.

Quick dunk, chocolate melts and biscuit softens a little but still holds its integrity.
