To find colleague trying to ‘isolate’ me from rest of conversation annoying?

I was sitting in the office chatting with colleagues when another colleague started saying my name repeatedly. I turned around she said ‘oh, I washed your cup on Friday.’

I said thanks and tried to go back to the rest but she kept talking. ‘I did them all. I was saying how it was really mucky …’

She also sings across people, which I have not explained well but if someone is talking and they say something like ‘I came in this morning’ she’ll start singing morning has broken.

It’s really affecting conversation and it’s one of the few chances I have to speak to other adults. I don’t want to be too acidic with her but AIBU to ask her to please stop interrupting?

Every office has one!

My tactic would be to ignore as it’s blatant attention seeking.

'Thanks for that, I was just talking to x..' and turn back round

You just have to stand up for yourself, OP. She sounds incredibly annoying, but you have to say, "Sorry, I'm in the middle of something here". As for singing morning has broken... I wouldn't be responsible for my actions!

This made me laugh, but i can see how annoying it is. I agree to ignoring her as if nothing had been uttered/sang or "just a moment in speaking with x"

What do your colleagues think of her?

The singing thing sounds a-maz-ing, I would just Hmm her silently and then carry on as if nothing had been said (sung).

Also wondering what colleagues think.
