I only pack 5 days worth of clothes for a Caribbean visit and build in time for doing laundry.

Helenloveslee4eva · 09/10/2022 15:45

😂
agree wash clothes !

importantly though 7 weeks is probably long enough , depending where he’s going to need more than one season of clothes.

( eg I’ve just walked the dog in a t shirt and light trousers today but 7 weeks will be nearly December and big coat time perhaps )

Put a list on your phone. For a few days, every time you use something consumable (eg nappies, sudocreme, shower gel, shampoo, moisturiser) for your son or you, write it down on the list. Ask your family to check availability and cost of all the stuff in local supermarkets, and then decide what you need to take, and what you'll be able to get there. This will depend on what particular brands and products you're fussy about. Check laundry arrangements. Ask whether you'll be able to borrow toys and books for DS from family members with children of similar ages. Is there a library?

We are going to the Carribbean so it'll be very hot and I thought tui had that option but they said no it's not a option

We did 5 weeks on a yacht. You rely don't need 25kg. We did hand luggage only 😂

Wow, who pissed on your Sunday roast?!

You'll be fine OP. Just pack for 7-10 days and wash whilst you’re there. Have a fab time!

25Kg is loads!

Don’t pack heavy bulky beach towels, use a cotton cloth, buy a mat out there, or borrow from family.

Don’t pack loads of heavy toiletries, full sized shampoo bottles etc. just a small amount of essentials in small bottles to start you off.

Wear the heaviest shoes you want to take, plus jacket etc on the plane.

Buy sunscreen in the airport after you have been through security.

gogohmm · 09/10/2022 16:17

It's loads, just wash your clothes. I did 3 weeks with 10kg, I took 6 outfits and washed them

I don't understand the problem here. What is the problem?

One weeks/ten days stuff for you and baby. Get hotel to arrange a weekly wash, dry, ironed/folded - collected and delivered clothes bundle, or a fortnightly one if weekly is too expensive. Repeat.

Have a lovely time.
