If anything?

Can you specify what they've done and also approx the size of your company in terms of number of employees.

My company has done nothing and I'm a bit miffed about it and wandering if this is normal or not given the current crisis?

Badgirlriri · 03/10/2022 21:29

Erm, nothing at all. What do you want them to do?

hopeishere · 03/10/2022 21:30

Nothing. Below inflation pay rise. They did give some money for homeworking during covid not fire if they will do that again. 600 employees.

megletthesecond · 03/10/2022 21:30

Nothing. They pay me for doing my job. Seems fair to me.

Royalbloo · 03/10/2022 21:31

Nothing. Normal, I think.

mrsanflowerpot · 03/10/2022 21:31

Nothing.

Pava22 · 03/10/2022 21:31

What do you want them to do? Their will have gone up too and as a place of business will be using more energy and depending on customers and employers more heating etc...so they will be feeling the pinch too!

Erictheavocado · 03/10/2022 21:31

I'm a TA, so nothing. We haven't yet had our pay increase that we should have had in April, so when/if we get that at some point it may help for a few weeks. But that is all.

Figgygal · 03/10/2022 21:31

Nothing

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 03/10/2022 21:32

Everyone got a 6.5% rise in April

Limescaleandlemons · 03/10/2022 21:32

Nothing, I’m self employed and can’t afford to help myself out.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 03/10/2022 21:32

We all got a 5% pay rise regardless of performance / probation / start date.

PaperPalace · 03/10/2022 21:33

Nothing

Shamoo · 03/10/2022 21:34

We did £1500 payment as a one off for anyone under 30k. We have a similar payment coming later in the year but covering everyone up to 70k.

magaluf1999 · 03/10/2022 21:35

Not normally generous but have i think done what they should have.

Circa 500 employees. Very very very cost conscious and lean.

200 quid bonus for all employees not on a bonus scheme already. 250 quid cost of living one off payment for all employees on less then 35k. (60 ish %).
Uplift of all minimum wage employees to national living wage. This will also go up by a good % come april.

Comefromaway · 03/10/2022 21:35

Nothing. The cost of materials has risen profit margins have fallen.

Ilikewinter · 03/10/2022 21:35

Me = nothing, below inflation pay rise, civil service
DH has had 4 ×£500 payments made, plus pay rise but below inflation, private banking sector

Malfi · 03/10/2022 21:37

Nothing.
We got a 1% annual pay rise. Whoopee. Private sector.

Eminybob · 03/10/2022 21:37

They gave me £1000 in 2 instalments

Mitchthekitch · 03/10/2022 21:38

You must be young, OP. Assuming that your employer should support you even more than they do by paying you!

Sometimes, life is hard and the economy shifts in a way that means we have to make personal compromises and sacrifices. Not expect our employers to act like our parents and provide handouts. Aren't most people mostly working from home still anyway? The money saved from this is pretty significant for most people.

I didn't hear anyone suggest their annual pay rise should be cancelled when we had years of 0.5% interest rates and low inflation!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 03/10/2022 21:38

Not given me a pay rise since 2019 👍🏻

Eminybob · 03/10/2022 21:38

DH is getting £1200

CharlotteSt · 03/10/2022 21:39

A 5% rise a few months back which was a pleasant surprise. My boss has hinted at another one coming but I'm not counting on it and of course their costs have risen massively too.

AntlerRose · 03/10/2022 21:40

Employer A - 5% payrise
Employer B - 4% payrise

Hummusontoast · 03/10/2022 21:40

Nothing. Social care so no surprise there

Roundaboot · 03/10/2022 21:40

I work for one of the Big Four. We've had nothing specifically for the cost of living crisis, which I find surprising given we did get payouts during Covid and to coax us back into the office.
However, we did get above average payrises and benefits are excellent so I'm not complaining.
