To have watched the Kardashians tonight

Well I know IWBU to watch it but I’ve had a stressful week at work and needed something that didn’t require too much thought.

anyway, here’s my AIBU. I watched the episode tonight where Khloe has a baby via a surrogate and it made me so uncomfortable. She’s lying in the hospital bed like she’s given birth, the birth mother cleared out the picture and just the sheer amount of money that has likely changed hands because she wanted a baby with her ex.

AIBU to think it feels exploitative?

Wow just googled. The stupid bitch has a surrogate because she wants to stay in shape. Should definitely not be allowed that.

I don’t think Khloe has disclosed a medical issue, she was having a baby with a man she was trying to be in a relationship with (but he can’t stop cheating). She has never been so slim and I also don’t think she wanted to give up her figure or go through the press torment all over again, they were really hard on her for gaining weight last time

I'll admit, I've watched it. I don't actually mind the Kardashians in general, I enjoy the show and they've certainly done well for themselves, but I can't summon an iota of sympathy for Khloe.

I can't understand how she can be shocked that the Man who has gone to great efforts time and again to prove himself a snake and a waste of oxygen, has turned out to be snake and a waste of oxygen.

Took him to another room to stop the bond he already have with the mother that gave birth to him more like. Poor baby. Created with the intention of taking him away from his mother at birth and his dad is a lying, cheating piece of shit.

Just disgusting. Renting wombs, buying babies, exploiting women, the other repulsive one did it too. Surrogacy should be banned.

Lol. There no valid medical reason to make you rent another woman’s body and buy a baby. No one is entitled to a baby. It’s very sad for anyone that wants children and can’t have them but this really shouldn’t be the answer.

No one should be able to ‘use’ a surrogate. Commissioning babies and renting wombs, exploring women, it’s a horrible thing. The child is not centred, it’s all about what the adults want.

It was really jarring to see. She was, very obviously, detached from this unborn baby. Then as soon as he was born was cuddling him in the hospital bed, like the surrogate was a disposable part of childbirth. Very odd. Dystopia is the right word for it.

I'm anti surrogacy anyway, but especially in situations like this. Rich people paying poorer people to act as incubators is horribly exploitative.

Accept that they’re not entitled to a baby, no one is. No female reproductive organs between them should mean no biological child. Decent humans wouldn’t think it’s ok to commission babies and exploit women. The entitled humans like Khloe think it’s ok.

She clearly thinks they should not be allowed to have children. If women are happy to be surrogates who is she to say they shouldn't be?!

@Bettyboop3 There's a lot of stuff I 'wouldn't do' that I might just change my mind about for $50k / $100k / $150k if my kids were going hungry, I was in immense debt or homeless.

Personally I think covering expenses for someone who genuinely wants to help you have a baby is one thing. Actually paying some random person a stack of cash to rent their womb is another.

Then it's a fantastic thing that you aren't Director of The Women's Wombs Institute.

Happy to be surrogates? Or do it for the money that a rich family like the Kardashians can provide? Desperate possibly. Funny that there’s never any tales of rich women having babies for poor women that can’t have them. Of course not, because why would a rich person take the risks physically and emotionally.

And you don’t even mention the child’s rights in all this, just what the adults want. It’s horrible.

Hopefully at some point in the future, all countries will ban it like some already have. Too much money to be made by agencies though, women aren’t important enough and children get no say. What a world!
