Off for a couple of days and now new colleague who's a lot better than me

It's an agency role. I couldn't do it for a couple of days, they took on another agency worker to cover me and she's now been kept on long term working in the same area of me.
I've nothing against her at all, she seems nice, however she's clearly a lot better than me.
She's mega helpful, constantly asking permanent staff what she can do to help, being really enthusiastic with everyone. Plus she arrives way earlier than me. I don't arrive until my start time as I'm not working for free plus there's zero to do, I get it shows keenness.
They said prior to this that I'm doing a great job and so on, however today the permanent staff were saying thanks so much for today, yet they were only looking at her I felt.
She's only been there a few days but already seemed to know everything well and used her initiave really well.
She's also more outgoing than me. I do make conversation but I'm naturally shy and quiet.
As agency staff you're disposable,so it makes me wonder. All I can do is keep trying my best.
Luckily I'm only doing agency work until I've got something permanent, and I've got an interview this Friday but there's no guarantee of anything.
Just feel a bit inadequate

It's an hourly paid role which is also why I'm reluctant to arrive so early

She is taking a different approach to you.
You are looking else where for a permanent role and so see this as a stop gap.

Your colleague is seeing this as an opportunity to get a permanent role with this employer. So her agency role is like an extended job interview.
