Friends DD is 10 and not been behaving well for a family friend who looks after her and can be moody and irritable at times in the home. Some of the behaviours were not answering when asked to do something, ignoring, or just shaking her head without speaking. I know she had the odd night terror but nothing that would be unusual. Fine at school, way too many after school activities in my opinion ( every night but one is taken up by something physical) . Anyway, now friend said she wants to get her DD tested for narcolepsy as she is pretty sure she has it based on the facts given above. Is this common in children? I wouldn't automatically jump to that conclusion personally.

Narcolepsy is when you fall asleep randomly so unless the DD is doing that I would find that a very strange conclusion.

Narcolepsy? Isn't that when you randomly fall asleep? None of those symptoms point to Narcolepsy.

That's what I thought but not sure if it's just the extreme end?
The kid looks completely knackered all the time because she's doing too much which in turn is impacting on her behaviour. In my opinion.
