To be annoyed everything has to be serious

I am being unreasonable, but just want to whinge.

DS has been through a lot over the last couple of years which i won't go into. He plays sport which he takes very seriously, works had at school (year9) and puts pressure on himself.

I encouraged him to go to a drama group once a week. It was fun, no performances just drama exercises and games.

I thought it would be a great way to meet people from other schools (and football) and something that wasn't graded or judged, just for the emotional outlet.

He did it for 6 months last year and really enjoyed it.

This year, they've gone all serious, have entered a national competition and are putting on a 'gritty, challenging' play. Lots of talk about commitment and extra rehearsals.

DS says he doesn't want to do it anymore and I've said fine.

Obviously they can do what they like, and I don't expect them to revolve everything and everyone around what DS wants. They are lovely people and genuinely doing a good thing.

I'm just grumpy.
