Why don't we all go on strike?!

Bit simplistic I know and totally unreasonable but wouldn't it be effective if everyone went on strike for as long as possible to get this government out.

Of course, people like carers who need the money the most wouldn't like to leave their clients without care but this government relies on the kind hearted to do jobs like caring for very little as they don't give a fuck!

So no Dr's, Nurses ,Fire officers ,,Police ,Teachers Supermarket workers ,amazon delivery people etc etc yes sounds like a plan Op 👌

Count me in.

We need to be more like the French in this instance. Instead of just moaning and doing nothing it is time to protest. The Tories have relied on public apathy for far too long.

I can't see any issues at all with the NHS, refuse collections, water treatment workers, gas/electricity network workers, police, fire service and supermarkets going on strike for an indefinite amount of time - nope none at all FFS

If you read my original op properly you will understand that my proposition is unreasonable for the reasons you have stated ( i gave care workers as a specific example). But yes....let's be more French!

It's too cold.
That will be an excuse.
Us brits don't do cold/hot

But in reality, shrike action all good but if someone is on zero hour contract, they may worry about their job. Which I fair enough.

But it would literally anyone ,whose job affected other peoples lives ,not just care workers ,where would yoy buy your food ,and there would be no takeaways or restaurants, no health care ,law and order ,kids stuck at-home yet again as no teachers ,and you better hope there is no fire in your home .

I did read it properly. The word "everyone" is the problem, as x2boys said it's more than just carers/nurses/doctors.

You're talking about everyone going on strike for imprecise reasons, for an indefinite amount of time, with no pay.

So that's no gas, electricity, clean water, food in the supermarkets, rubbish collections but you can't buy stuff so that's OK and that's just the key workers as placed on pedestals during lockdown on top of the emergency services.

That was precisely your suggestion hence YABU because your suggestion has zero basis in reality as a workable idea.

As for "Be more French" - again, what are you suggesting? Their blockages and stoppages hurt the average person far more than the wealthy than they're targeting.

Frankly we need the King to exercise some fucking power as the monarch and dissolve the government for a general election to be forced. That's probably unconstitutional - but it sits a damn sight better with me than advocating civil disobedience that always affects the most vulnerable in our society the worst.
