Johnny Drpp’s alleged lady friend

BanannaSplitz · 25/09/2022 22:58

AIBU to think that Johnny Depp’s alleged lady friend must be really keen to embark on a relationship with him when there is still so much public interest following the trial?
Would imagine the media circus will be intense.
Glad to see he is finally in a relationship with someone his own age (presumably).

Drink and drugs, but he’s not a wife beater.

Oh in this country he most certainly is!

Chickychoccyegg · 01/10/2022 20:52

Thought this was proven to be just rumours?
Johnny Depp always looks like he needs a good wash

PurplRainDancer · 01/10/2022 20:55

Which country are you in @Manaslave18 ?

Icedlatteplease · 01/10/2022 20:56

In this country it is accepted as fact. Hardly surprising given he's a drugged up alcoholic. Jury's are not good in cases involving the abuse of women.

PurplRainDancer · 01/10/2022 21:00

Bit of a generalisation there @Icedlatteplease

Except the British judge prevented AHs evidence from being fully investigated by Depps team, because she was a witness abd not a defendant, and judged her as telling the truth whereas we know quite a bit of what she said has been proved to be untrue. Would the same verdict be upheld if a judge heard all her evidence and then learned that part of it was untrue?

Icedlatteplease · 01/10/2022 21:06

I'm not sure which bit. Juries are known to be not great in cases which involve getting said she said. America worse than the UK. You can improve it slightly by giving juries abuse training before hand.

American was trial by social media jury. UK was heard by a judge.

Icedlatteplease · 01/10/2022 21:09

@MarshaMelrose did you read how much Depps team either suppressed or didn't get in because it was unnecessarily prejudicial in the US case.

I mean I'm no fan of AH but the idea that Depp is a decent human being is laughable

Icedlatteplease · 01/10/2022 21:17

proven to be untrue is a bit of a problematic statement

It was judged to be untrue by social media a jury....

However we do now know from the unsealing that some of the evidence was doctored by Depps team before it even made it to court e.g. file dates on pictures.

The whole American trial was a shit show. If I was accusing a white rich well loved celebrity of violence I would not want to doing it in the US... in front of an American jury.

Even less so if the Violence was mutual

Hurdling · 01/10/2022 21:17

@BanannaSplitz came across well? He said he fuck AH dead boy and he used his bleeding finger tip to write horrible shit to AH. Which trial where you watching!?

Plenty of his ex partners have professed their love and support for him which says something as they know him.

This is why trial by jury when it comes to violence against women never works....

If I were Depps ex and you saw the social media shit storm he's bought out against Amber Heard, I'm not sure I'd have a bad word to say against him either.

But yes the writing in AH's blood and the way he slammed that kitchen cabinet in the video told me that any Violence within the relationship was not one sided. I have no doubt that Depp is nor a decent human being.

Good actor though

PurplRainDancer · 01/10/2022 21:39

I think Amber heard had a part to play in her own ‘social media shit storm’ @Icedlatteplease
. Winona Ryder and Kate Moss had nothing to gain by publically Supporting him yet they both did.

Well who wouldn't leave their husband and kids for a wife beating, alchoholic drug addict Hollywood star?

😂

MarshaMelrose · 01/10/2022 23:22

did you read how much Depps team either suppressed or didn't get in because it was unnecessarily prejudicial in the US case.

First of all, that's their job. But his legal team didn't surpress anything. They set out a case to the original judge, White, and the one who took over, Azcarate, both chief judges, so experienced, on the circuit court of Fairfax County, who ruled what was legally allowed to be admitted and not. Defendants would be very shortchanged if their lawyers failed to to fight their corner to the max, which both Depps AND Heards team did.

It was judged to be untrue by social media a jury....

No. We know things were untrue. The British judge believed AH when she said she had donated all the settlement money. We know that's untrue. And even the amounts she said she had given were untrue. And her claim that she had an arranged agreement with both charities to pay the donation in installments was also untrue. And she said she'd spent the money on her legal team but we know that her house insurance paid for her legal team so that was untrue as well.
AH claimed she hit JD because he went to hit her sister and she thought he was going to push her down the stairs. But that's not what her sister said. She said Depp ran up the stairs behind her and shoved her, thereby pushing her AWAY from the stairs, and carried on towards AH who hit him.
AH claimed that JD had trashed a caravan which we know the owner denied. The British judge believed this allegation and indeed used it as an example of his violent behaviour to back up other claims of violent behaviour by saying, if he behaved like that here, its likely he will have behaved like that there.
We saw AH clap her hand over her mouth when initially she said that she didn't think anyone knew about her filing for divorce then revealed that she knew TMZ had been tipped off.
Then there was all that business of TMZ buying the copyright of the tape she made which denied having released, the arrangement of having TMZ photographers show up for snaps of injuries.
I can't remember all the dodgy stuff she said now, though. It seems like ages ago.

However we do now know from the unsealing that some of the evidence was doctored by Depps team before it even made it to court e.g. file dates on pictures.

But they never got submitted so couldn't influence any outcome. On the other hand Heard claimed in court there were photos of injuries but never submitted them. She claimed Depp hit her repeatedly in the face but took a photo of a bruise on her arm in which her face had no bruises. There was adjusted photo lighting to make discolouration/supposed discolouration (who knows) look worse. And on and on.

If I were Depps ex and you saw the social media shit storm he's bought out against Amber Heard, I'm not sure I'd have a bad word to say against him either.

Actually, it was AH who made the first move on this but she made a bad misjudgement. She decided to use the main stream press, such as newspapers, to ride the #metoo wave and become a spokeswoman for battered women, and she courted them with interviews and stories. As a result reading the daily newspaper reports of the trial was a bizarre experience if you'd actually watched the trial itself. They just didn't match up.
Depps lawyer, Adam Waldman turned out to be much more savvy and used online influencers. If ever there was a demonstration of how newspapers are becoming obsolete, this was it. For Depp, it was a masterstroke. But the vitriol that Heard suffered through it was disgusting. The amount of lies that were propagated through editing showed that online reporting is just plain untrustworthy.

But yes the writing in AH's blood

He didn't write in AHs blood! He wrote with the blood from his severed finger.

What struck me most about the trial is that lawyers that I followed online all said at the start that no way could he win, especially with having lost in the uk. But as the evidence came out, They were astonished it had been so clear cut in the UK, and they all started to believe that actually he could very well win. So it wasn't just Depp fans who were saying this, it was experienced lawyers who do civil and criminal trials.

Manaslave18 · 02/10/2022 09:29

@MarshaMelrose How did she try and ride the #Metoo wave when her article was out a good while before that movement happened?

I’ve seen the paperwork outlining the planned payment schedule to one of the charities so not sure how you claim that wasn’t true.

MarshaMelrose · 02/10/2022 10:23

@Manaslave18
The #metoo movement started to grow in 2017. It started with a New York Times and New Yorker exposes of Harvey Weinstein and Milano's tweet about #metoo in October 2017; then, by the end of November 2017, 80 or so actresses had come out and said Weinstein had sexually assaulted or harassed them. Then Judd filed a lawsuit against Weinstein in April 2018. Then in May 2018, Weinstein was charged in New,York with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct against two women.

Amber Heard published her article in December 2018.

She had an agreement, arranged by Elon Musk, to pay the ACLU over 10 years. The children's hospital, through one of their Senior Vice President of Foundation Operations, Candie Davidson-Goldbronn, stated that no such agreement was made with the hospital contrary to what Heard had claimed.

"The whole American trial was a shit show"

I'm stunned at how much they accepted witness statements that began with..."we were drunk and/or high on hallucinogenic mushrooms". The whole thing was ridiculous, imo.

What puts me off most about JD is the excessive chain smoking. Every picture he's got a fag hanging out his mouth and he's puffing away like a steam engine. He must have awful teeth and breath. He'll likely drop dead of a stroke or heart attack any day now (hope that's not too harsh, I just think he could take better care of himself) 😕

PurplRainDancer · 03/10/2022 18:10

I saw a photo of JD getting a tattoo and he was puffing away during that. Hope he asked the tattoo artists permission to smoke during the process.
