Posting here for traffic.

I've seen a photo of myself today and am shocked and upset at how round my face is. I knew I'd put weight on but I guess you can ignore the number on the scales more than being confronted by a picture of yourself looking gross.

Basically, I eat shit. I love carbs and white stuff (bread, potatoes, pasta). I eat too much convenience food and I don't enjoy or have the time for cooking. Dh is the cook in our house and loves adding extra oil/butter/cheese to everything.

Please please please can someone help me devise some sort of meal plan for weight loss. I need to feel full, if I don't I'll just binge eat. But I need to be feeling full on healthier things than stodge and sugar. I usually do around 10k steps a day but I know weight loss mainly comes down to diet over exercise so I really need to make some changes.

I would be so grateful for any advice.

The app 'Lose it!' has been a game-changer for me.

Intermittent fasting - only eat during an 8 hour window, eg 11 am till 7 pm
Cut our all UPF - eat whole foods only, and no sugar or refined carbs
No snacking
Focus on lean protein and vegetables, plus small amounts of unrefined carbs (quinoa, lentils etc) and healthy fats
Find some healthy dishes that you like - I highly recommend Lebanese cuisine (check out A Lebanese Feast)

Plus exercise, especially abs and core.
Whilst you cannot out-exercise a bad diet, being able to feel your core is a powerful motivator.
Try Rebecca Louise's Best Abs and Caroline Girvan's Braced Core & Abs, plus the Bowflex 3-minute plank. All free on YouTube.

Weight-based exercise...... building muscle.
So important, especially as we get older!
Wearing wrist and ankle weights while walking.
Working out with 4-5 kg dumbbells.
Rebecca and Caroline have some great weight based workouts.
Also Growingannanas, which is more HIIT based.

Life changing - I speak from experience.
I'm in my 60s and fitter than most women half my age.
Good luck!

@Blizzardbeach
Lentil, chickpeas, beans, tofu, natto, tempeh are not or minimally processed, existed for thousands of years.
You can alternate them.
Of course some fitness coach are into carnivore diet, pseudo-paleo diets, but there is more than weight loss.
Seriously, chicken breast for snack, after a steak for breakfast. Skip the snack, you will lose even more.
Yes we are omnivore, but having 4 times a day, meat from an animal? A few times a week is more than enough .
You also need to think about your personal health. You don't even realise the jump in cancer risk you are putting yourself into,
