Positive autumn habits

I really want to feel better in myself. Work is quite stressful, well I’m putting stress on myself half the time which leaves me feeling low on energy and half the time like I’m coming down with another bug of some sorts.

Now we are into autumn and there will be more colds etc in general I want to get fitter / healthier / be a more positive version of me!

For those of you feeling in a good place at the moment and who manage to avoid a cold every 5 minutes can you tell me your secret / top tips?

When you're not doing something absolutely essential or fun, rest without guilt.
Walk outside for 30 minutes every day.
Eat a plant based diet with as many portions of veg as you can manage.
Avoid processed food.
Use garlic in everything you cook, double the amount in the recipe
Use cinamon and tumeric wherever you can.
Drink a pint of lemon water every day.
Take vit D and B12.

I wouldn’t mind wearing a mask but it seems literally no one does now and I know it’s silly but I don’t want odd looks!! I really want to try and boost my immune system

A high quality mask (FFP2 or better still FFP3) is a great way to stop unwanted bugs running you down.

i’d rather protect myself than worry about looking the odd one out, tbh!

Eat all the garlic you can, especially raw. Not only great for the immune system but the smell will keep people and their germs at a distance 🤣

I am outside a lot, getting dirty working with animals and the land. I v v rarely get ill. Try spending more time outdoors.

Which vitamins do you think help the most? I really want to cook some soups this year, do you find a blender works best?

Vitamin D.

Yes apparently, I don't think they can hold the string properly and so tend to go away disgruntled rather than risk losing the game.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@MarsupiIami I'm intrigued by the sinus irrigation! Do you use saline?

Cooled boiled water, salt and bicarb. It's a bit weird at first but once you're used to it it's a revelation.

I still wear masks and it definitely helps otherwise I'm sick loads. I also take vitamins specific to my needs and try to eat healthy and be active. Not easy for me but I do try.

For mental health I think explore and embrace all things hygge. For me it defines autumn.

How often do you do it?

How often do you do it?

Twice a day. I used to get bad sinus issues several times a year and it's stopped since I started.
