The answer is, you won't use either. You will keep searching until you find a name you both love.

Fwiw I think "the one" is a nature name. Sorrell, Juniper, Willow...something along those lines.

Elizabeth had been getting a little bit more popular for a couple of years now anyway - I’ve met a few as well as lots of the shortenings (Betty/Betsy especially) gaining popularity. I think it’s a strong classic but very versatile and parents are noticing it and appreciating.

DS was baby surname at the GP for a while as I had a wobble between first choice and second choice after labouring all night.

Initially yours but... we all know his is the one. It's the name of a down to earth little girl. Yours makes me picture one of the 'it' girls from mean girls.
