I’ve been in my current job for nearly a year and I just don’t know if I’m enjoying it. There’s a few perks but I’m not feeling 100% motivated all the time, it’s been a bumpy few months there! Do most people enjoy their jobs most of the time?! What are the benefits of working where you do?

Sorry for the multiple posts. I’ve been lucky and just ended up working with some great people so a large part of my enjoyment comes from that. We have a shiny, lovely office, no micromanagement, clear, aligned aims and goals, progression, free coffee, tech that works, interesting extra curricular stuff and so many opportunities to get involved in if you want to.

Currently working NHS ICU and really enjoy it. I’ve worked in other depts of emergency medicine , in differing countries too , and I prefer Major Trauma but happy where I am. There are challenges with shortage of intensive care staff but I never get this “sick” feeling other nurses have confessed to. I approach my job with enthusiasm.and always have. Occasionally you can have a stressful shift and working on a Christmas Day ( I have 3 kids ) can be a bummer not to mention pandemics but it’s what I signed up for. I’m good at what I do and not sure I’d want to do anything else.

I love my job, it's interesting, I have a great team around me, the days absolutely fly by and I really love meeting lots of different people. Most importantly, it's pretty well paid!

I'm a nurse but not for the NHS. I work 13 hour shifts and I do 10 shifts a month so I get a lot of days off which is great for childcare. My shifts are pretty flexible too because my colleagues are brilliant and we all help each other out whenever anyone wants to swap a shift. I also get 10 weeks of annual leave a year.

I have been in my job for years (decades) and most of the time I have been relatively happy and the T&C's were good enough for me to never consider leaving.
In recent years, internal changes meant that my work became even better and I actually enjoyed it however the daily commute was getting me down.
Then COVID struck and WFH made the job almost perfect, I was enjoying the job and I had no commute to worry about.

Move to the present day and we are now back in the office for part of the week (agile working) but COVID proved that this just isn't necessary and I realise that I just don't want to be there. For that reason I am taking early retirement with no intention to work again.
