If you don't get woken by children, do you get up at the same time every day?

I'm always tired and can't help but wonder if I sleep trained myself, would I feel more refreshed when I wake up?

I'm sure that I used to wake up feeling refreshed. I generally sleep well (although I've been having nightmares recently) but don't feel like I do iswim? So maybe getting into a pattern will help?

I need to be up at 630 M-F and the thought of getting up at that time on a weekend depresses me. Plus, my alarm always wakes my teenager who is being a horror most of the time at the moment and the thought of his attitude at that time in the morning also depresses me!

Most days yes. Around 7-7:30 without an alarm, 7 on alarm days. I go to bed at roughly the same time every night. A decent sleep routine is very important.
What time do you wake up on a weekend and are you dozing in bed or properly asleep?

No, I also get up early Mon-Fri and couldn't face being up that early on Sat and Sun.

But I have definitely read that the research supports getting up at the same time everyday being much better for you.

I wake up at 6.30 in summer and 7 in winter. 7 days a week. Doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I'm a bit like a toddler! My daughter needs waking no matter what time she goes to bed!
At the weekends I grab a coffee and get back in bed until 9am.

No kids, but I have two cats who love to "remind" me to feed them at the same time each morning!

I wake up at 5.42 on the dot every morning. I have no idea why and can usually get back to sleep at the weekend, but my clock always says 5.42 when I wake up ... weird, I know - this is a genuine post and not sarcasm!

Oh yes, forgot that cats are worse than children in the morning!

Left to my own devices I would probably sleep until noon before I wake up naturally even if I went to bed at 10 the night before. 😔 Most of it would be proper sleeping rather than dozing.

I guess I need to give same sleeping times a go. According to one site though it would mean I have to be in bed by 9 each night so I won't get an evening.

It came to a head this morning. My husband sleeps in until he wants to when he's not working and doesn't help with anything in the mornings on the days he is working so it all falls to me (I also work). He has chronic fatigue so it's more complicated than just plain laziness.

I don't remember the last time I slept in while he dealt with the children (and cats) even when I've been ill. Last week I told him I was having a lie in today. He wasn't happy but yesterday he said something that meant he acknowledged it. Anyway surprise, surprise, he didn't get up and I had to. I ended up crying in the bathroom which was an over-reaction and I think it was frustration and disappointment as much as tiredness.

Anyway, he's not going to change so I need to find some way to cope with the tiredness and accept everyday is going to be an early morning. And find some way of my alarm not waking the teenager.
