Or have kids parties really stepped up a level?

Been to 2 this weekend with my youngest and there’s been photo ops, mascots, professional cakes, party ‘favours’.

It’s seemed to gone to a whole new level since my eldest was little (7 years ago)!

I'll never understand that - even if someone missed birthday during lockdown. What parents will do when they'll turn 16? Will hire private castle at France and invite Jay-Z?

Well no, because maybe the parents are just doing what they like, the child wants, and they can afford? And aren’t actually doing it to show off to you and feel any need to out-do themselves every year? Some years I’ve arranged big expensive parties, others what my children wanted was much more low key.

Nope! We have still attended normal parties.

Local village hall booked and then games or a disco.

Soft play is still included. So all normal here
