Yes, but we have 2 registration dates per year now - used to be 1st August, now it’s 1st March (22 plate for this year) and 1st September (72 plate for this year).

Used to have the Summer and Winter Olympics in the same year - so Winter Olympics were Lake Placid (USA) and Summer Olympics were in Moscow (USSR).

We covered up to the Moscow games boycott for history O level in 1982.

I don't think it was, I turned 7 in 1980 ,it started when I was in secondary school.

@Gastheif The neighbours one is incorrect. It was first broadcast in Australia in 1985 and the UK in 1986.
