Have toothache that is driving me up the wall. I'm 24 weeks pregnant. Found some dihyrdacodine but it went out in 2019 I'm desperate. I can't even think straight If it's safe enough.
Aibu to take some?

It just may not be as effective.

It won't be harmful but it may be less effective.

The date wouldn't be a problem but dihydrocodeine is not recommended during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed for the individual.

No. Nothing to do with being out of date, they are not recommended without Dr approval while pregnant.

Are you registered with a dentist? Do they have an emergency number to call? is there a walk in NHS clinic anywhere near you? Or phone 111 for advice.

Currently on hold to nhs 111. Definitely think they'll pull the tooth as its cracked and half missing. Worried about the pain after they pull it too. Can they prescribe painkillers? Even if I take half a dose would that be bad?

Please don’t take any medication that was prescribed to you pre-pregnancy. Dihydrocodeine is not recommended during pregnancy.

Definitely wait and see what they say. They can prescribe painkillers and this will take into account the stage of your pregnancy (some may be suitable in one trimester but avoided in another).
