To think some senior managers are dumb fucks?

Every manager I have ever had has just failed to use their common sense. And asking questions when they already know the answer or the answer is plainly obvious to them. It just pisses me off, sorry at the end of my tether after today

Managers used to be promoted up from having done the job themselves. Even family firms used to make their adult children learn the front line jobs. In the nineties, this changed and there was the idea that you can be a manager without ever having done the front-line job.
The result? Loads of senior managers are managing people with zero ideas of what those people really do. It is why they use consultants, who simply ask the staff what the actual issues are and feed it back.

I doubt they are asking the questions to know the answer - they may be checking if YOU know the answer correctly.

No one can really know your company or how they work but if you're not happy, maybe look to see where you could advance into a more challenging role where you get to make more decisions.
