What clothes did you buy for your March baby?

Currently have hyperemesis so trying to distract myself and focus on the positives by looking at cute baby clothes online Blush

My first and only baby was born in the height of summer, so not sure what to buy for this one - is a pramsuit/snowsuit likely to be used?

TIA!

I had an early April baby and I don't think a snowsuit is likely to be necessary! By the time we were ready to be out and about, the weather was warm.

I had a February baby and never used a pramsuit.. Just blankets and baby grows!

March 2022 baby and the pramsuit was a compete waste of money.

My March baby is now 9yo, and she was born during heavy snow! We did an emergency trip for a snowsuit a few weeks before she was born and she used it for a month. However... we walked to nursery, and toddler liked trips to the park in the afternoons, so we were outside a lot. She slept very well snuggled up in her pram.

March 2007 baby who inherited his cousin’s pramsuit. It snowed, so he did wear it - but I’d have been annoyed if I’d spent money on it as it was only worn about 5 times

I had a Feb baby and had to replace the newborn pram suit with a 0-3 months one as was definitely still using it come March. He spent a lot of time outside though, a combo of city living, an active big sister and lockdown!

My eldest was born in March and it snowed for 5 days after we brought him home. That being said, we didn't have a pram or show suit and we did not take him out in the snow.

A coat and a blanket will do.

I’d say that it depends on how you will be transporting your baby around, If you will be in a car, then a snowsuit will be a waste of money. Better off with a couple of thin layers, and a blanket over the car seat. In a pram, again, I’d probably recommend a few layers, warm cardigan with blankets/ “cosy toes”. If you’re going to be walking with a sling, then a snowsuit would be warmest and easiest tbh. Although I’d be tempted to get a second hand one, rather than buy new, for the first size anyway.

DD was a late Feb baby and we never needed a snowsuit. She had a little jacket that was thinly quilted with layers under and a blanket and hat over as needed. It was a really mild Spring that year.
It's best to look at your lifestyle and what you're likely to do, if you're outdoors with a pram from when baby is tiny then you probably will but if you'll spend the first few weeks mainly at home and not out for long periods then you may not.

My little one had the fluffy pramsuit you can get in next with the stars on. (Not a full on snowsuit) it's quite thin but warm enough for that time of year!

Pramsuit was the biggest waste of money for my January 2016 born baby.

Can't use in a car seat. Utter pain to put on. Just wrapped up in blankets cosy toes etc when in pram or car seat. And extra layer when baby wearing.

I got a second hand snowsuit for my DS2 early March baby, his elder brother was in nursery and it was so much easier just putting this over his bedclothes in the morning when it was still cold.

georgarina · 17/09/2022 17:34

I used a pramsuit with both of mine (one born late Feb) and found them really helpful. Easy to put on over pajamas for the walk to nursery/school. You can get them cheap second-hand.

My eldest was born in March and we made use of a pramsuit for about a month or two but we are in Scotland and it was particularly cold. Otherwise blankets did the job and to be fair I wasn't out much walking with her in the early days as had a difficult section recovery. I think it depends on whether you have older school aged children and so will be doing the school run , are likely to go for lots of walks, meet ups use public transport a lot.
