Aibu to ask for one you have heard recently?
At a school meeting today sat in reception area.. just before 9 am.
Student enters to register as late arrival.. Shoes slopping loudly across the mat.
She tells the receptionist she needs a taxi at 11 as she is at the hairdressers....
Receptionist is apologetic as she didn't quite catch that.
"you need to get me a taxi at 11 as I am at the hairdressers and I am not waiting another month to get it done."
Desk buzzes for teacher..
Student phones her dm and shouts school are refusing her a taxi at 11. Dm seems to be advising her to just come back home..
Teacher arrived and asked the student if she would be back in the afternoon..
Obviously not as her hair takes 4 hours.
And she did a flounce any mner would be proud of.
My gasted is absolutely flabbered..
And yet my ds is in detention today for likely a minor misdemeanor.. Asd diagnosis on way and struggling..
Maybe a trip to the barber's wil sort him right out?
One to share anyone?

Wow that is madness!

Very often rules are not consistently applied across year groups. Yr 7&8 the teachers hope they can turn them around, by yr11 they just give up.

Your school story reminded me of a school story. We are at a big parents evening event at my kids Primary school a few years ago. The school had just moved into a brand new building and there were a few things to discuss including parking of course.
One parent suggested that the teachers should park in the Supermarket car park which was about a 3 minutes walk from the school and leave the actual school carpark empty for parents to park in at drop off and pick up time.

Trying to sell our house. All searches/surveys etc done. Begging solicitor and EA for an exchange date. Buyers send a letter saying ‘we are really stressed and going on holiday for 10 days and don’t want to be contacted in that time’.

on a more mundane level, trying to get out of my drive and can’t as parents park on the yellow lines opposite (small road). When I tell them I’m going to work they say ‘I’m just taking my child to school’….whilst parked illegally and blocking me in.

I've read it twice and still confused.

reminds me of a parent who told her 9 year old to pass it on to the teachers that she had to leave 30 minutes early for a dentist appointment but did not apply for leave and did not send a message to the teacher.

Child did not either pass the message on or was not clear. Cue parent screaming in the receptionists face right up with finger pointing and spit screaming about why they pay 'extortionate fees' when the school cannot even get that right.

I happen to know for a fact the grandparents pay the fees and I was another parent in the reception area who witnessed the whole thing.

Parent has form for being a total bitch.

I've read it twice and still confused.

Child comes in late to school, child tell receptionist they've to book them a taxi at 11 so child can go to hairdressers. Teacher asks will child be back for school that day. Child kicks off at this as of course not and flounces out?

my child’s piano teacher was approached by the headmaster and told that my 8 yr old daughter was no longer allowed to play ‘difficult’ piano pieces on school concerts.
apparently they had a complaint from a parent that it was unfair on the children who couldn’t play the piano well and wasn’t good for their confidence.
so now my draughtier wasn’t allowed to play anything above grade 3.

I found out about two years later it was my daughters best friends mother.

Schools always go harder on good kids, punish them harsher for minor infractions, but with seasoned hooligans - they turn a blind eye.

Oh right. Yeah I'm sure that definitely happened in real life.

Earlier on today, actually. At work, SEN school, fellow TA was asked to assist me with getting 8 students back to class. Staff ratio for our class is that there need to be 2 adults. She says "I'll just run and check if the teacher is back in the classroom"

And did not return. The head of year actually had to come out and wait with half while I took half. Walked past next empty classroom, TA sitting on desk, swinging legs and eating toast. Teacher popped head round to ask what the fuck after I took the first half in and went back for the others. TA told her she was taking ten minutes break in the quiet, she won't get another chance until she gets home.

Omg I wish I had recorded it - obviously couldn't! Her hair was originally brown with outgrown very blonde streaks.
Not sure how anyone could /would make up such a bizarre thing!
