For partner to react like this to a disagreement

He stormed off and left me.
I had no transport.
He came back in a foul mood and insisted we leave the venue. He refused to engage with me.
The argument wasn't serious, it was a misunderstanding but his reaction to me was huge and inappropriate.
We left the venue. He did not speak to me for three hours in the car and then refused to return my call or
Message when we got home.
Anyone else experience this?
The relationship is over now but he keeps contacting me despite being adamant that he was right and his actions were acceptable.
I need to make sure I never engage with a man like this again.
I can't think of a red flag before hand that would have alerted me to this reaction.

You can’t just treat people badly because you’re tired and then expect them to wait patiently for you to behave more reasonably because you feel better and want to snap back to normality. If I read this right, because he didn’t behave how you wanted him to you then sodded off for two hours when you’d come away on a mini break together.

Its not just him who was out of order

It's not at all reasonable and you've dodged another nutcase who you'll probably see on the front pages in a few years.

He's a bully and he's only sorry that he hasn't yet found a woman who thinks this is acceptable. He probably targeted you as you've had a shit relationship before.

Always have access to your own transport/money and stuff so you can never be left somewhere. A sad but useful tip.

You mention sulks, flounces & a lot of drama on both sides.

You both behaved badly.

So you went on a romantic mini break, you were a but moody, then he was tired but you were ready to go out so arranged to meet your cousin for hours. You are wondering why he was raging when you got back? Did you say you were popping out? I get his point as you were meant to be on a date essentially!

There was a thread recently that had a very similar situation.

You didn't say anything rude to him. But you should maybe have said you're going to nap while he drives.

And I do think it was rude to disappear with your cousin when on a break with him.

But he doesn't seem to be good company to be around. So it's probably best you've split. Spend some time with friends and family, focus on fun for a while.
