I found out recently that I can bend my arm/elbow a little bit further than a straight line and I thought it looked quite cool!

can most people do this too?! Or is my arm just a bit more flexible?!

i’ve attached a photograph of it (and I’ve scribbled out all the details on my wall and door incase it’s identifying 😂). I took the photo of my reflection in the mirror so it’s a bit fuzzy apologies!

I was diagnosed AGES ago and thought this was something everyone can do! Blimey. Never stops surprising me.

I'm in that high progesterone bad week. Just putting that out there since they'll be some people on this thread who can sympathise 😂

When I was younger, yes. (Probably until about 40-45). My bendy joints were seen as funny as a child. I could 'pop out' my shoulder and hip too. I did a lot of yoga in my 20s and 30s which came easy to me.

Now, post menopause I really wish that it had been investigated so that I could have been given information on how to protect my joints as I experience joint pain daily. I only recently found out about hypermobility.

Please try to find out how to strengthen/take care of those joints. Your body will thank you.

I can do this too. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I have a beighton score of 7 (everything but the knees).

I always thought it was normal (as everyone in my family is hyper mobile) until someone didn't believe me that I could put suncream on my own back.

I am double jointed.....I think that's the term? It's my only party trick.

I can do this too. DH HATES it 😂

My daughter's elbows are like this. She struggles to write without pain

My son has hypermobility syndrome so can do this - along as weird things with other joints. He isn't allowed to play contact sports because of it at this point, and will likely need physio when older. He does strengthening exercises to try and minimise this, but at 14 he doesn't need any additional input. It was diagnosed when he broke his arm. It was obvious he was hypermobile, but as it wasn't causing any issues I didn't bother doctors with it.

I can bend my thumbs forward or backward to touch my wrist, I am hypermobile though.

Sorry about the photo quality! I couldn't take a photo without both my hands so did a video and screenshotted 😂
