To go round and tell her to STFU

I live in a 1970s mid terrace, don’t hear one side at all but oh my goodness I hear the other lot constantly. I chose to live in a terrace and yes I know I should expect noise and believe me I do.

I don’t expect to hear doors being slammed shut so forcefully that my whole house vibrates.

Im working from home and am minutes away from storming round next door & telling my neighbour to stop constantly slamming her doors. It’s been constant. Even with headphones on the bang of her door makes me jump. Why the hell does anyone feel the need to do that?

She sounds angry, I'm not sure telling her to STFU will improve her mood much, she might punch you!

Our neighbours doors slam but I suspect it's the wind doing that rather than them. It's still annoying but I wouldn't go round and say anything. I'm sure there are noises we make that annoy them

I have a similar problem. I think that she's so noisy partly because her neighbours are reasonable and considerate. She can't hear them making a noise so assumes she can be as loud as she likes.

Some people are just scummy cunts. We had a neighbour who we didn't complain to, because life's too short, until one day she was in her garden making her usual prosecco-fuelled racket one of her guests said she was a bit loud, her reply was that she hadn't had any complaints before. The point is, some people won't consider their neighbours unless they get complaints.

Yeah dotjones I think there is an element of her thinking no one can hear her. She didn’t believe me when I told her I have 15 year old twins as she said she never heard them. Well no, she wouldn’t I’ve brought them up
to be considerate. However I hear her DC getting up at 6 every morning and running around the house screaming.

I haven’t gone round but have slammed my door very loudly, although I doubt she even noticed. Noisy people don’t seem to hear noise.

Try the local council noise abatement team. A friend of mine has neighbours like this including constant gaming on main TV attached to a shared wall.

She is home all day and not currently able to move for assorted reasons - the team have just installed a load of kit and she is recording for them with a view to a noise abatement order being attached to the house next door. all privately rented or owned properties

Maybe go around and calmly say that you work from home and that you can hear every noise. Try and be nice about it as that tends to have more of an effect. Just say something like "I know we live in terraced houses so you are going to here some noise which I understand but sometimes when I hear your doors slam it really gets to me" if she's a decent person she will apologise and be a bit more thoughtful
