Got this email from school -
"Good morning
The CAHMS session on Thursday 15th September is cancelled due to the period of mourning for the Queen."
Is it reasonable to cancel children's mental health sessions for this reason? I thought that CAHMS was very underfunded and with a massive backlog, how is this going to help anything?
I saw that cancer patients were also having some of their treatments cancelled / rescheduled for the same reason.
I've always rather liked the Royal Family (well, the productive ones anyway 😄, but this just feels so wrong.
AIBU?
Is this really necessary?

Am I being unreasonable?

Unfortunately, because the schools are closed, pretty much everywhere is going to have a huge staffing problem as loads and loads of people will be off taking care of their kids. Hence, essential services are on bank holidays. It sucks but there's no way round it.

It is annoying that services are announcing this and saying it is 'out of respect'. More like because they see everyone else getting the day off work and want one too.
