What to use after size 6+ nappy

ChloMorgs1 · 14/09/2022 11:28

DD is 4 and still wears a nappy at night (perfectly normal at her age, have no concerns) however the nappy is starting to get a bit tight on her. We are using mamia nappies from Aldi, any recommendations on other brands to try?

I'd switch to drynight pants at that age if I'm honest. She can then put them on herself and if she needs the toilet in the night she can pull them down too.

hamsterfacee · 14/09/2022 11:32

Tesco do size 7 nappies and pull ups which we use at night.

Sprogonthetyne · 14/09/2022 11:32

I think tesco do size 7 or drynights

VainAbigail · 14/09/2022 11:33

Yeh DryNites are your best bet. They go up to teenage size.

emma1103 · 14/09/2022 11:33

You can get up to a size 8 in pampers

whosaidtha · 14/09/2022 11:33

Agree. We used non branded pyjama pants. To make him feel less of a baby and encourage him to toilet before bed and straight when he wakes up.

How do you find the size 7 pull ups? We switched back from pull ups cause found they gapped to much

I do see what you mean, but she has only just turned 4 and doesn't wake up at night. She knows no different than a nappy and we don't make a big deal of it

There are night pull ups that start at age 4. DS is 6.5 and happily in the 4-7 age ones so they should be fine if your daughter is outgrowing size 6s. Only a couple of months ago we ran out and he had to wear an emergency size 6 normal nappy and was OK for one night so you should also be fine with 6s for a while.

Beees · 14/09/2022 11:38

You don't need to make a big deal about it as it absolutely is normal at this age but equally giving her autonomy over them is quite important. She might be only just 4 and know no different but she will know that nappies are for babies so using pyjama pants like dry nights will help her see she's not still a baby but a big girl using big girl bedtime pants.

We use the Tesco Fred and flo pull ups for DS almost 4, he fits in the 6+ pull ups but doesn't fit in the Aldi mamia ones anymore. They hold really well and he's never wet through in the morning or anything

That's interesting, I might switch to the Tesco ones. Are they good overnight?

I'd use drynites now as she's 4.

CoodleMoodle · 14/09/2022 11:41

Aldi do their own night-time pullups, we use those for DS (also 4) but they only go up to age 7. When DD was in night-time pullups we used DryNites, they go up to age 15.

ChloMorgs1 · 14/09/2022 11:44

We have issues with pull ups as well, do these normally hold all night?

They work well for us, especially under pajamas. The few hot weeks over the summer she went to sleep in just the nappy we had a few leaks, but they've I been fine the rest of the time so think she was tossing and turning a lot with the heat, and they moved out of place.

Get special underwear for her. But transition her out of nappies
She is too old for nappies

There are also spreads you put over the matrasscover so that when she has an accident you can just pull that spread off and replace with a different spread (vs having to wash all your sheets)

Also id advice a wee detector that makes a beeping noises when wee is detected and will wake her up.

She should learn sooner rather then later and I think you putting her in nappies is holding her back and babying her.

And i understand nappies are easier on YOu But this is about Her.

Hill1991 · 14/09/2022 11:56

Dry nights it's what we use for our DS
