Whenever I look at these dogs I start laughing. Is it just me who thinks they are severely underrated? I have a greyhound but I feel like they get some love.

They’re my favourite breed ever. My neighbour has one. He’s a barky little sod but he’s like a big cuddly toy and so sweet and clever but very very active.

You have to be careful with Beflingtons as some suffer from copper build up in the liver.

I live right beside Bedlington. They are very proud of these little dogs. The sign with the towns name on is a huge, carved Bedlington terrier. All the towns public benches have a carved BT on the side( as per pic) and the local football team are the Bedlington terriers !! Super little dogs, obvs very common here.

YES! They’re adorable.. look like lambs! I have a tiny red toy poodle and he’s the cutest little button!

There are a few round my way. One of my close friends has one - he's extremely needy and high maintenance. I find him a bit of a pain to be honest.

picklemewalnuts · 14/09/2022 19:32

Oh @BeatieBourke that's my old boy's twin! I'll try and find a photo (pre SM).

Oh he was a doll. Very independent minded though. Very much took a while to decide whether he was ours or not. (Rescue).

I have a bedlington x Cocker spaniel. He is a wonderful, a bit needy but very loving and playful.

I think it looks like a thing from star wars.

LakieLady · 14/09/2022 20:02

They are gorgeous dogs and I've never met one that hasn't had a lovely temperament. I much prefer them in the puppy clip than show clipped though. The pompoms make them look silly.

I'd love a Bedlington x whippet. They manage to look scruffy, but somehow elegant at the same time.

LozMarieFielder · 14/09/2022 20:16

Am loving all these dog pictures 🥺

And yes I suppose I do think they are funny looking but that's also what makes them cute 🥰

I have a bedlington x whippet and he’s just the best dog ❤️ He loves everyone and everything, will walk for one mile or 10, adores cuddles but will sleep all day if we go out and is super bright and was easy to train. The only downside with him is that he’s a bit of a gobshite and likes the sound on his own voice 😂 I’d have a full bedlington in a heartbeat.

This sounds like my dream town!

You’re at quarry hosp in this pic!

We had one when we were kids. Lovely dog, it had to be cos it had 5 kids annoying it every day. It used to run like the clappers, often got out of the garden, and brought back by the local policeman (it was in the 60s) We only had it traditionally clipped occasionally so it was usually like a fluffy greyhound. Didn't moult. Lovely and the only dog that me and siblings still talk about, and we had a few over the years.

Georgeandzippyzoo · 27/12/2022 09:32

I love all dogs but have to say I find these a bit 'weird'. I find their shape, curve of back etc a bit freaky.

I know they are clever and generally good natured dogs (a friend had one) but there's just 'something'!

Clymene · 27/12/2022 09:35

They're lovely natured but really annoyingly barky

TheOtherHotstepper · 27/12/2022 09:40

@userxx , Bedlington lurchers (Bedlington x Whippet) are a thing. Fast, compact and effective.
