Help needed from Gluten Free people!

IABVU posting here for traffic, but I’m desperate.

I have been GF since January, tested negative for Coeliac but I am most definitely gluten intolerant. Found this out in May when I pinched one of DD’s veggie sausages and then suffered the effects.

DD made sausage rolls from my Becky Excell book in food tech today. I’ve just eaten two mouthfuls of delicious, buttery, melty puff pastry which is why it clicked - GF pastry doesn’t taste this good. Then I remembered I’d done the shopping in Aldi where nothing is GF and of course pastry wasn’t GF. Wheat flour is the first in the ingredients list.

Is there anything I can do to lessen the impact? It won’t hit for a few hours, probably tomorrow if the veggie sausages are anything to go by. I’ve got a bloody job interview at 2pm!!

Help! Or maybe just hand hold and tell me crap (pun intended) jokes….

Loperimide (Immodium) works best for me if I take it early rather than waiting for the arrival of diarrhea - in your situation I'd definitely be taking it first thing.

We have a good bacteria tablet from H&b
Paracetamol
Buscopan
Antihistamine for good measure.

Lots of water to flush

My daughter will have stomach ache for weeks after being glutened.

Luckily my Dd hasn't had a bad glutening for years but we find drinking loads of water to flush it through the best thing to do. Your reaction does sound a lot like coeliac disease tho.

Thank you everyone. The worst has passed (will spare you the gory details), now feeling like there’s been a boxing match inside me and really tired.

Oh yes, the post gluten exhaustion is very real. Going forward reboot your gut with high quality pre and pro biotics, consider taking B group vitamins and vitamin D as you may well be deficient, and spring clean your diet
