To feel a weird feeling this time of year…

I love September and actually love Autumn, when it properly kicks in, but feel slightly odd at the moment…this in between stage from the crazy rush of summer and people. It feels quite eerie in a strange way, I appreciate the calm but felt quite lonely the last few days 🤷🏻‍♀️
Not sure if I’m just being crazy

Anyone else?

I'm the same! I think it's all tied to that "start of a new year" thing that goes with being at school.
I always get weirdly aware of the passage of time in September, and feel like the year is nearly gone, and where the heck did it go?!

September is also my birthday month AND this September is the 5 year anniversary of my dad passing away, so there's always some weird conflicting feelings going on.

Wow, I was just thinking this this morning. Every September, like clockwork, I just feel weird, on edge and rather down. I don't suffer from SAD in the normal sense, but think I must do to some extent if it's affected me every Sept for 35 years!

Wish me luck I may just may have a new home lined up going to see the place on 23rd September. Tenancy finishes 16th of October so If miracle happens I could move then.

Feeling it sooo much today 🤷🏻‍♀️So weird

Pinkpeony2 · 13/09/2022 13:17

Really feel out of sorts. Totally get it.
Think it’s the strange hot but wet weather. The fact that winter is coming and also the Queen passing has made me feel very out of sorts and sad.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 13/09/2022 13:33

See i feel way more lively today - it’s bright sunshine here really nice day so maybe that’s why?! I also got up earlier and got out around 9am. Which has helped. Yesterday literally felt like I was in a fog !

Always4Brenner · 13/09/2022 14:23

Dull here today but muggy still looking forward to cooler days now.

C1239 · 13/09/2022 18:53

Reassuring to know it’s not just me feeling a bit strange!

TheLostNights · 13/09/2022 22:29

Also feeling really strange today. I definitely think it's recent events and the fact the hot muggy weather is remaining. Tonight we have the windows flung wide open as it's too warm in the bedroom. It's mid September now and still too hot. Ridiculous.

Still shorts and tees, even DH. Eating salads, cold meats, sipping dry whites.

We had all the national things listed above plus in limbo with house move, Sold and Bought OK, waiting for surveys.
DH has to have some serious health tests. Confirmed NOT cancer so lucky us. But it is restricting his mobility.
Feeling a bit subdued. Be better after clocks change.

Aquarius1234 · 13/09/2022 22:48

Definitely feel lonely. Never liked September from years ago when younger.
But I mean I don't want to think about the end of year either.
It's a horrible feeling.

HelloVeritas · 13/09/2022 22:51

I feel the same, the change towards Autumn usually does it but I'm feeling it harder this year. I naively thought 2022 would be an easier year compared to the last 2 but it hasn't. Maybe that's why.

louderthan · 14/09/2022 00:38

I get it. It's the back-to-school feeling. I don't have kids but I work in a university in professional services and this time of year is definitely the weird calm before the storm of freshers week, inductions etc.
