Interview to work at women's prison, not sure whether to go

Well I've got through to the next assessment round. It's for an officer job, is it really a good idea to go ahead with this?

I was searching for threads on the subject and wondered if op was still around and how she may have got on

My friend , kind, non judgemental etc taught adult literacy/numeracy lessons and was asked if she would do lessons in a local men's prison.
She went open-minded to have a look round. As she was 'wanded' on entry she said immediately there was some doubt and when she was shown the current Class area and how the inmates worked and the rules that had to be in place for her safety, not turning your back, no walking around helping, keeping path to door clear etc . She said she knew it wasn't for her , said she be too anxious.

We also had an older supply teacher who came to school who as part of her church would go into the women's prison weekly. She loved it , could see how many were there from situation/needs rather than basic violence and loved talking and supporting them.

I start in a mens cat b prison next week. Wish me luck!!
