To think we could get a TV licence just for September?

We don’t have a TV or a licence currently as are trying to raise our 2 year-old screen-free for the time being. Yesterday however I watched some live footage from the BBC News app on my iPad without thinking (AFAIK you’re technically supposed to have a licence for that?).

I’d like for 2 year-old to see some of the official events on an iPad (new king, etc.). Can we get a licence just for September and then cancel it again? Technically we should surely be able to but I wonder whether the authorities will accept this.

Did you actually just pay for a years tv license to watch a bit of the news on an iPad for a day or two?? I think that may be one of her strangest things I’ve ever read on here. What did you think would happen if you just watched it without the license?

I've never had a TV licence and watch what I like so I think you'll be fine.

More curious on the likelihood your 2 year old will be interested in the new King. I pointed king Charles out on the TV to my 7 year old this morning, told him that was our new king. He just said 'well he looks almost dead as well!' and went back to what he was doing.

I mean he's not wrong! That comment has really made me laugh
