AIBU?

To think DH needs to go to work?

DH began a new office based role in Feb 2019. Within a few weeks he was working from home (covid) and has remained WFH for the past 2 years. DH much prefers to work at home and is well set up so this was all good.

6 months ago the employer changed their rules to working in the office a minimum of 2 days a week. DH managed this for about 2 weeks and then had an accident and was back to WFH while he got back in his feet. He had managed to make ( a minor injury) last at least 6 weeks and is finally back to the office this week ( or so I thought)

He did go on The first day this week but he appears to be including travel time in his working hours??? Although he claims he is doing stuff on the train? Then I came back today and once again he didn’t go in. Apparently he ‘wasn’t feeling right’ this morning but is fine now.

Aibu to think that this is royally taking the piss and his employer is going to be recording this ( or worse). I work in a very different field as regards expectations and have been working outside the home throughout the pandemic.

I am also pissed off that I rearranged my day to do pick up and drop off for him to go into the office. So that might be clouding my judgement?

oh and I have tried to speak to him about it but he just says it’s all ‘fine’ with work.

DH's work had that 'rule' for years before Covid and he never followed it and apparently no one cared 🤷‍♀️ Perhaps line managers aren't bothered. I'd imagine he knows what he can and can't do.

OP fucktonnes of businesses are telling everyone they need to be in X number of days, but in reality they don't care. Mine included.

Do you think there's more to it, OP?

Do you feel he's avoiding the office for some reason?

Well she was clear that it's her husband, so perhaps she's bothered about him being dismissed for gross misconduct during one of the worst possible moments for costs?

OP sorry but what he's doing is beyond risky. It's in the field of gross misconduct, and when he's caught - and he will be - hell be lucky if it's less than dismissal. You are right to be very worried. If it was OK then he wouldn't be making stuff up.
