Exciting ideas for 11 year old parties please

Posting here for traffic - I know this is unreasonable for this but I'm panicking a little. Sorry!

DD turns 11 this month. Party to take place early oct. Northamptonshire area but imagine generic ideas are available across the country. Looking for something exciting and different. And that definitely couldn't be considered as childish. ConfusedHmm

DD is thinking an escape room but they are £25 per person and an adult is required in the room with them which would cramp their style. There will be approx 10 people. Also do people like them???

Activities which have been ruled out are pinnacle climbing centre, mini golf, trampolining centre.

I was thinking hire a community centre and do something but then what do you do? They are apparently far too old for kids parties.

If anybody has any ideas I would be so grateful. She is at that stage where she is uncomfortable and a bit awkward so I would like this to help boost her confidence.

Thank you so much 😊

Hello - for ideas, my DD has just turned 12 and has been to loads of 12 year old parties this year. They included: sleepover in tents in garden; karaoke & pizza; bowling; ice skating; laser tag x4 (!); nail bar & pizza; escape room x 2 (it was good); shopping with each child given £20 to spend followed by Wagamamas.
Hope this helps!

Go karting?

Marvellousmadness · 07/09/2022 13:46

A sleep over!

Would Spy Missions be 'escape room' enough, without the price tag (or requirement for an adult)?
Cinema?

We took ours to the local dessert cafe. Total cost .. a dessert each.

As in we took DD and her friends, not us!

We hired a room in a karaoke bar for a couple of hours in the daytime.

It's was a resounding success - I'd get them to pick lots of upbeat sing along songs in advance as it's loads of fun when they are all belting it out/dancing.

Barbie Girl (really) Titanium and Firework all got them dancing on the benches.

They had a blast.

I’ve done this with some friends as an adult…On a rainy Sunday afternoon we were at a loose end. We didn’t even get smashed….it was brilliant fun 😁

Thank you all so much. Yes, sleepover sounds a great idea but I think there will be 10 kids, some of them boys and we have a dog that I don't think most people would want their kids around and I don't want to risk it as he hates strangers. Ashamedly, I also have a small messy house.

My DD is turning 11. We will be hosting a Murder Mystery dinner party for her friends. It does require re-writing the game to be age appropriate, but she is super-excited. They will dress up in character and the dinner will be sit-down three courses, with my grownup nieces waiting on them.

For one we had friends round for pizza followed by a limo that drove them around the city to see the lights and then dropped each of them off at home. The other we booked out a community art place and they all made screen printed bags and mosaic mirrors and I catered a party tea. There were several discos and pamper parties but the one party everyone enjoyed was a couple of hours with a street dance instructor in a hall with a pizza delivery.

We did a meal out and a shopping trip for my 9 year olds birthday party, she wanted something grown up. They had pizza express first (I sat seperately) then I gave them all £25 and then I followed them round town whilst they spent it. There was only 6 of them though and all girls x

maddening · 09/09/2022 12:48

Cinema and pizza?

Yika · 09/09/2022 12:48

My DD had a survival skills party for her 11th.

10 pin bowling
aqua park
could be other ideas

Poppyseed14 · 09/09/2022 13:00

A horse riding party maybe if that's something that she's into? It can work out expensive though so I would be looking at less kids.

thaegumathteth · 09/09/2022 16:18

Dd is almost 12 parties she had had recently or been to ....

Go ape
Water inflatable park
Llama trekking
Karaoke room
Hot tub
Sleepover
Circus skills class
Horse riding and afternoon tea

Pinkishpurple · 09/09/2022 16:24

Gamer bus or Virtual Reality gaming

Dixiechickonhols · 09/09/2022 17:29

Hot tub (hire) and sleepover

HappyKoala56 · 09/09/2022 18:18

We're not far from you. At the cinema in Corby you can hire an entire screen? The Wave Coventry? Midlands Roller Arena? Go karting or Lazer tag? Tbf my 11yo DD would opt for a big sleepover, less hassle all round!
