I fell over…again

I’ve been with DP nearly 4 years and yesterday I fell over in the street. DP and a kind lady who was passing helped me up and I’ve grazed all my knee, foot (no idea how), elbow and hand.
Feel very embarrassed. More so because this is now the third time I have fallen completely over in front of DP and I know he’s thinking wtf. One time was on ice so that can be excused surely but the other two there’s no excuse.
I don’t remember falling over previously to this. Do I have some underlying health condition or am I just getting clumsy/less nimble in my old age? (I’m only 42 but post menopause).

OP has said this is new so seeing a GP makes sense.
It probably is just a warning that you need to improve your balance with exercise but I agree that discussing this with your doctor makes sense.
I have always fallen over once or twice a year so wouldn't be worried but as it is a change ....

I walk into pillars and fall over, slip in and out of bath, slide in mud etc very regularly DH expects it. I'm always covered in bruises. Nowt wrong with me though.

I frequently stumble sideways onto my foot. I think it’s just the way I walk. I rarely hit the deck, usually style it out.

Finding you have a sudden lack of coordination that you previously took for granted is a very valid reason to seek medical attention.

A super fit sportsman friend of mine running for the bus one day and he fell flat, tried to get up and his legs weren't working properly, and it turned out on investigation that he had a cyst pressing into his spinal column, it was actually something very easy to sort out although the initial realisation was terrifying

Were you wearing the same shoes?? I had a pair of ridiculous sandals that used to make me do ‘comedy stumbles’ as DP called them. The sole was made of an odd (cheap) material that used to mind of stick to the floor.

I fall over constantly and always have. I can fall over sitting down. I fall over in flats, in heels, in trainers. I fall over sober and when I have had a few. The most common factor is that without fail, it's in front of lots of people.

I also seem to attract the wind and have been known on many occasions to show passing traffic my underwear with my dress up around my waist 😔

I have also been run over a couple of times.

I don't do anything careless, it just happens to me 🙄😂

Hello.

So this started happening to my mum in her 50s. She said she would feel absolutely fine and be walking out and about, then suddenly feel as if she was walking on ice and then fall over. It didnt happen that often at first, but got increasingly more frequent over the space of a a few years. No other symptoms apart from falling over randomly

After me nagging her she finally went to see a dr. Turns out she had a couple of slipped discs in her neck. She had an operation to fix and it hasnt happened since. The dr said if she had left it for a long time it could have ended up paralysing her. Yeah so I would deffo get this checked out!
