To take my toddler to a leg wax?

DH didn’t tell me he was working away tomorrow. Have a leg wax booked (going on holiday Thursday.)

Is it completely insane to stick DS (20 months) in a pushchair and hope he doesn’t yell the place down? He is very active.

I was told by my therapist that she was uninsured to have DC on the premises.

You can't take a toddler, no. Most likely the business won't allow it for insurance purposes as PP said, but also it's just not the right setting did them & it's stressful for everyone.

If they were older & could sit quietly outside it would be different.

Just hire a babysitter for an hour. You know it’s a bad idea which is why you’re canvassing opinions

You can’t take a toddler. Hot wax boiling in tubs for starters.

Yeah I agree, you know its not on

Is it a solo therapist or other treatments going on?
Feel sorry for anyone that's paid for a relaxing massage/facial anything that has to endure a screaming toddler.

Christ if even his loving parent describes him as lively, he must be a massive pain in the arse 😀

I can understand some element of not wanting to listen to a toddler when having a massage or similar, but sitting on a bench outside a room? Come on!

No you are being selfish! The whole experience is a treat, including relaxation beforehand. I have never seen a toddler at a spa or salon and there is a very good reason for that.

JubileeTissues · 07/09/2022 08:24

"Sitting outside a room is not a treat in any way."

That 10 minutes of peace and quiet and relaxing with nothing to do except look forward to a treatment. It bloody is. You're ridiculously entitled if you think inflicting your unruly toddler on a salon is ok.

silverclock222 · 07/09/2022 08:43

From the minute you walk into the waiting area with your phone off so as not to disturb the current client who may be having a relaxing massage is precious time which shouldn't be disturbed by a noisy and wilful child.

YellowTreeHouse · 07/09/2022 08:46

No, this isn’t fair on the beautician or anyone waiting outside. You need to rebook.

memyselfi · 07/09/2022 09:42

I can see why you're tempted but it's really not okay.
It's dangerous for one thing and the salon's public liability insurance wouldn't allow it, and it's just inappropriate. Beauty salons are one of the last places where we can relax in the company of other women without men and children intruding.

cumbriaumbria · 07/09/2022 09:47

Can you cancel and book someone to come to your house through an app? Much more relaxing for you and your toddler!

Absolutely.
