To ask folk in Scotland what to wear?

Hi, I'm off to Scotland for a week with a pal and would like to know whether to bring shorts and sandals in the hope of warmish weather?

I'm in SE England and here it is chilly at night but surprisingly warm in the day. I'm going to the Aberdeen/ Moray area.

The weather forecast is not great, with rain mostly forecast for the week, but I live in hope!

@ChaToilLeam - are the midges still out?

No midges when it is raining, much less on the east cost than the west anyway.

Plan for all the seasons in one day!

You’ll be fine for midges unless you become a grouse beater when you’re in Huntley- then you’re fucked. Lying in the heather for hours on end.

No midges in Keith either. If you can get a lift (there may well be a bus but not sure!) a trip to Cullen or Portsoy would be lovely - the Cullen ice cream is worth a trip making a trip to Scotland for alone. You can go for a lovely hill walk up the Balloch - it can be accessed on foot from Keith. Are you in Keith town itself?

I never know what the hell to wear to even just go to the shop.
Today, torrential rain, warm, then blazing sunshine, roasting, now colder & torrential rain again. I've had a T shift on, a shirt on, a jacket on & off, an umbrella & also both trainers & boots on at different times.
I'm now in the house & not going out again.
Sooooo good luck.

All this plus thunder & lightning in Edinburgh today!
