Three booster seats, small car, in the back. Can it be done and how did you manage it.

Ideally, I need to get three car seats in the back of my relatively small car.
I already have one, but am looking to purchase the others based on how narrow they are etc. Ideally I'd like to keep the current seat but would be open to other ideas if not possible.

Thanks, hope someone out there has managed it!

Just be aware that the tilt is outgrown when the top of the head reaches the shell of the car seat, many people are finding it now doesn't last very long. It was a newish thing joie have said about.

Thank you, I am aware of that thanks. My youngest is 8 months and 0.4th centile for height so don't think it will be a problem for us. We also have a twe so if my oldest (5 in October) is not ready for a high backed booster by time her baby sister outgrows the tilt she can move into that and the youngest have her max way. The tilt is a stop gap seat until our youngest is big enough for an erf seat

So I totally get the dilemma. I had an (unplanned) 3rd baby... had a good sized, quite wide estate car. We did manage for a year. Baby in cybex cloud, 3 year old in cybex Sirona (rear facing) and then turned 4 year old went forward facing. We had bought a Cybex Q hbb (bought early before number 3 was known) but then had to get a Britax Romer which is narrower. We could just get all 3 in but the middle seat was on top of the seat belt and so would have to thread the seatbelt to get her in and out. (I do have a seatbelt cutter/glass breaker emergency thing in the front). When it was just me and the kids we would use the Cybex HBB (more padding/side impact protection) in the front seat for eldest. (Couldn't put baby as my car doesn't allow you to switch off the airbag).

I have hated this, because car seat safety is my absolute priority!

We absolutely couldn't buy a new car at the time. A year on, we can and are getting an S Max this week. There are very very few cars that have 3 full seats in the back and allow 3 decent car seats to fit side by side (think less than 10 and even going for a 7 seater SUV doesn't necessarily solve the problem).

Our second car is a Nissan Juke and there is no way in hell I'd get 3 seats side by side there.

If the 3rd child is not yours then I am not sure that you can agree to transporting them with your children as it simply isn't safe. Please please don't put under 4s in a booster (high back or otherwise) unless they are taller than a 4 year old would be. It just takes one accident (that may well not be your fault/out of your control). And although nothing can ensure the children will be safe, you will never forgive yourself if you didn't have them in the right seat and something terrible happened.
