I was heading out to the blood donor centre earlier and my neighbours were out in the back garden with their toddler. We said hi and then my neighbour said: "If you're feeling at all faint afterwards, just give me a ring and I'll come on down and pick you up.

I don't know whether to dial 999, 101 or just keep a log of this suspicious activity. Just so that I'm not accused of drip feeding, they mowed the back garden for me last week while I was down the footie ..... 🤷

MN will hate DH and me... One of the first things we do if there's a power cut or an issue with water supply is pop next door to check on our octogenarian neighbours. Then help them out with candles or flask of hot water (we have a camping gas stove for uninterrupted tea backup). We are the worst

Same here. We have their keys so we can pick up post and water their plants while they're away. Last time, they had a water leak upstairs so we got plumbers in (with their permission) to sort it out before they got back. Then we did them a big shop. We are the lowest of the low.

I think you need to make an appointment for a free 30 minutes of legal advice.

Then get your ducks in a row. They are gaslighting you and must be narcissists. So tone deaf of them during the cost of living crisis to brag that they can pick you up in their car. I assume they earn 6 figures and you know all the deep details of their financial affairs. Get a ring camera, book a spa day and bulk everything up with lentils. You’re going to need it.

Do those lentils work in a massive salad too?

I love my neighbours too - once I was having problems starting my car and my neighbour popped out with one of those jump start devices, charged and RTG. They love animals and recently helped a ferel cat get vets treatment which they paid for. When they had the fence done they even offered to treat the side of our shed while it was accessible. They are the best type of neighbours and I pray they never move!
