To ask you to choose between the NHS and subsidising energy bills?

We all know that our DCs are going to be paying off all of this government borrowing until the end of time. The country’s in debt and Liz Truss is about to borrow more.

So if you had to choose, would you borrow more for the NHS?

YABU - the NHS has enough, deal with energy crisis
YANBU - the NHS is the priority always

Have you considered that administering means testing for free prescriptions would also be a costly and potentially wasteful enterprise for the NHS in itself? People would need to be employed to do that means testing and deal with all the admin and appeals etc, it could very likely end up more cost and waste than simply authorising everyone who meets a certain criteria.

Also not sure why you feel you're obliged to have free prescriptions if you really want to give that money back, you can always offer to pay for them. I'm always asked if I pay for prescriptions when I collect one, in your case simply answer yes and hand the money over.

Sorry, that was a response to watapalava

They already means test tho - some people do get free prescriptions already

so all they have to do is say you get xx free forever

for all the rest of your prescriptions you have to pay or apply for free like the whole country can now

lots of people refuse to believe the nhs is badly managed but I don’t know anyone who works for nhs who’s say it’s managed well!

paying thousands for locums per shift is not good management
